About Me

I am Kirith Entwistle and I am the Member of Parliament for Bolton North East. I was elected for the first time in July 2024 and I represent the Labour Party.

Bolton is my home and I’m proud to live here with my young son. My roots and future are firmly here in Bolton, and I’m passionate about ensuring Bolton has a strong voice and representation in Westminster.

Bolton has given me the chance to start a family, to put a roof over my head, and a community. Now, I want to give back so that my son and future generations don’t have to struggle.

Before I was elected I worked for a charity called WaveLength, playing my part in helping to tackle loneliness and social isolation, an issue I’m deeply passionate about. I started a ‘Phone a Neighbour’ campaign in Harwood to help vulnerable and shielding individuals during the Covid-19 pandemic.

I have a track record of delivering strong campaigns through my work, including fighting to protect victims of press abuse and phone hacking, campaigning for the Leveson Inquiry in my work for Hacked Off. I’m a strong supporter of our Armed Forces, having worked for the Royal British Legion and campaigned for extra support for the Armed Forces Community.

Since being elected in 2024 my work has focused on ending violence against women and girls, advocating to improve the lives of children and parents, and delivering the new housing that Bolton needs.

I have served on the Women and Equalities Committee, the House Modernisation Committee, and worked with Treasury Ministers as a Parliamentary Private Secretary.

I have set up a full time office in Astley Bridge with a team of staff to support my constituents. Whether you have thoughts on national politics or a personal issue you need support with you are more than welcome to contact me and I will do what I can to assist.
